Jety-Oguz Village is located in the Jeti-Oguz District of the Issyk-Kul Region of Kyrgyzstan, southwest of Karakol, at the entrance to the gorge of the same name. For tourists, it is above all a convenient point on the way to a mountain valley known for its red cliffs, spruce forests, and views of the Tian Shan peaks. People come here both for a short trip from Karakol and as a starting point for hiking and horseback routes.
The name of the area is translated as "Seven Bulls." It is associated with a chain of red cliffs that have become one of the most recognizable natural symbols of the Issyk-Kul region. Nearby is the "Broken Heart" rock, clearly visible already in the lower part of the gorge and often mentioned among local landmarks.
The village itself retains the character of a mountain settlement connected with pastures, seasonal tourism, and the road leading deeper into the gorge. In the surrounding area, natural zones change: at the foot there are open slopes and the river valley, higher up begin spruce forests, summer meadows, and areas where yurts are set up in season. Thanks to this combination, people come here for walks in nature, trips into the mountains, and знакомства with the landscapes of the inner Tian Shan.

From the village, it is convenient to set out toward the main natural sites of the valley. In the lower part of the gorge, the red sandstone cliffs are clearly visible, giving the area its name. Farther on, the road runs along the Jety-Oguz River, and the scenery gradually changes: dense spruce stands, open meadows, and viewpoints over the surrounding ridges appear.
Visitors have access here to walking routes of different lengths, horseback outings, and trips through the valley by car. In the warm season, yurt camps operate in the surrounding area, where tourists staying deeper in the gorge or heading to higher mountain routes stop. Mountain weather changes quickly, so even for a short trip it is worth taking temperature differences and road conditions into account.
Nearby there are also the Jety-Oguz resort area and routes toward waterfalls, alpine meadows, and passes that are chosen for longer outings. People usually get here from Karakol by road toward Jety-Oguz Gorge; the journey takes less than an hour, depending on the season and the condition of the route.
