Kundu in Antalya: Beaches and the resort strip

Kundu is a seaside district within the greater Antalya urban area, located east of the historic centre and stretching along the Mediterranean. It forms part of the continuous Lara–Kundu resort zone and is not a separate settlement. Intensive coastal development began here in the late 1990s and 2000s, when large hotel complexes appeared along the shore.

The district is conveniently located in relation to Antalya Airport — the Kundu coastline is a short drive away. Main access is via the D400 highway with a turn onto Lara Turizm Yolu and then along Kundu toward the hotels. Public transport from Antalya's central districts runs through Lara to the coast; terminal stops are along the main road, where shops and visitor services are concentrated.

Urban development in Kundu runs along a single thoroughfare, behind which hotel grounds and the sandy beach begin. There is no continuous public promenade — sea access is arranged in sections, with public entrances to the beach between hotels. Sidewalks along the main road, small green areas and shaded tree plantings, plus short paths to the shore, are suitable for walks.

Kundu

Kundu beaches and hotel zone east of Antalya

Within Kundu the main axis for walking and shopping is Lara Turizm Yolu, lined with shopping arcades, evening bazaars and small malls. The most notable shopping landmark on this street is Antalium Premium Mall. Access to the sea is organised through hotel areas and separate public walkways to the sandy shoreline, allowing visitors to reach the beach without entering private grounds.

The coastline in Kundu is sandy and wide, with a gentle slope into the water, which is typical for this stretch of Antalya's shore. Public green spaces at the waterline are limited — well-kept parks are mainly within hotel grounds, while small squares and tree shade appear along the main road. Cafes and restaurants operate at hotels and along the highway; there is a choice, but prices are usually higher than in central Antalya.

The easiest way to get here is by car via the D400 with signs for Lara and then Kundu, or by municipal buses running from Antalya centre along the Lara–Kundu line. For orientation: Lara is immediately to the west, while to the east the coastline leads toward Belek.
