Amirsoy Ski Resort

Amirsoy Ski Resort in Chimgan, Uzbekistan

Amirsoy Ski Resort is located in the Chimgan Mountains, in the Bostanlyk District of the Tashkent Region, just over an hour’s drive from Tashkent. The complex is situated on the northern slopes of Mount Maigashkan in the Western Tien Shan system. The resort opened in the late 2010s and became one of the most notable modern winter recreation centers in Uzbekistan.

Amirsoy operates as a year-round mountain resort, but it is best known for its infrastructure for alpine skiing and snowboarding. There are slopes of varying difficulty levels, training areas for beginners, rental points, and service facilities. Cable cars are used for access, connecting the lower part of the complex with higher sections on the slopes.

In the warm season, the resort is visited for walks in the mountains, panoramic views, and outdoor recreation. The property includes hotels, restaurants, and leisure areas, so people come here both for a day trip and for several days. Thanks to its location near Chimgan and the Charvak Reservoir, Amirsoy is often included in travel routes through the main mountain tourist area near the capital.

For tourists, the resort is appealing because of its combination of modern infrastructure and convenient access to the mountain landscape. It is one of the few places in the country where active winter recreation is organized to a high standard and is still accessible without a long journey from Tashkent. Amirsoy is also suitable for those who want to go up into the mountains by cable car and see the ridges of the Western Tien Shan without taking a difficult route.

In winter, visitors to Amirsoy ski and snowboard, and also use the training slopes, instructor services, and equipment rental. For families with children and those who do not plan to go onto the main slopes, calmer recreation areas are available, including tubing zones. The condition of the slopes and the availability of certain runs depend on the weather and the season, so it is best to check operating conditions in advance before the trip.

Even without skiing, the resort is of interest for its cable car ride: the upper platforms offer views of the surrounding ridges, the slopes of the Chimgan Mountains, and neighboring valleys. In clear weather, the terrain is especially easy to observe from here, making the trip convenient for those who want to see the mountain area without a long hike uphill. There are places on the grounds for a short rest and meals, so a visit can be combined with a walk and a look around the surroundings.

Outside the winter season, people come here for walks in the mountains and as a starting point for outdoor activities. Nearby are Chimgan, the Charvak Reservoir, and other popular places in the Bostanlyk District, which are often visited as part of the same trip. This makes it possible to combine a trip to the mountains with visits to natural sites in the surrounding area.

From Tashkent, the resort is usually reached by car or taxi along the road toward Chimgan and Charvak. The journey takes about 1.5–2 hours depending on traffic and weather conditions.
