Antalya Aquarium

Antalya Aquarium in the Konyaalti district, Antalya, Turkey

Antalya Aquarium is located in the Konyaalti district, near the coast, Beach Park, and the Migros 5M shopping center. It is one of the city’s largest indoor aquariums, designed primarily for family visits and for those who want to spend a few hours away from the beach. The complex opened in 2012 and has since remained a notable urban destination for leisure and for discovering marine fauna.

The aquarium’s main feature is its long underwater tunnel, which forms the core of the visitor route. As they move through it, visitors can see large and small marine creatures on both sides and overhead, making observation more immersive than in ordinary aquariums. In addition to the tunnel, the complex includes themed tanks with different types of marine and freshwater ecosystems.

The exhibition features sharks, rays, moray eels, tropical fish, and other aquatic animals. Decorations with reefs, sunken objects, and artificial underwater scenes help distinguish the exhibition zones more clearly and make the route easy for children to follow. The visit takes place indoors, so the aquarium is often chosen during the hottest hours, in rainy weather, or for a calm midday activity.

For tourists, it is a convenient place in the western part of Antalya that can be included during a walk around Konyaalti. The aquarium is suitable both for a trip with children and for an individual visit if you are interested in marine animals and modern exhibition spaces. People usually come here not for a long excursion, but for a compact, well-organized route within the city.

Underwater tunnel and themed aquariums in the Konyaalti district

The main route inside the complex is designed so that visitors gradually move from individual aquariums to the most famous part of the exhibition - the tunnel, about 131 meters long. Along the way, you can observe different species of fish and marine animals at close range, compare the design of the tanks, and see how the lighting and presentation of the exhibition change in different halls.

The aquarium is aimed at a wide range of visitors: families with children, couples, and solo travelers come here. The visit takes place in a closed, air-conditioned space, so it is convenient to plan it for the middle of the day. People usually spend an average of one to two hours inside, depending on their pace and level of interest in the different sections.

Nearby are Beach Park, the Konyaalti coast, the water park, and the Migros 5M shopping center, so the visit can easily be combined with a walk, lunch, or other city attractions. You can get here by taxi, private car, or public transport from central Antalya and the Konyaalti district.
