Belgrad Forest is located on the European side of Istanbul, north of the city center. Although Besiktas is indicated in the task, it is important for tourists to understand that the forest is situated farther from the urban core, in the northern part of European Istanbul. It is one of the largest forested areas in the metropolis and an important natural space, visited for walks, jogging, and outdoor recreation.

The name of the forest is connected with events of the Ottoman period: after the conquest of Belgrade, some of the relocated residents were settled in this area. Over time, the territory gained importance not only as a forest zone but also as part of Istanbul's old water supply system. Historical structures have been preserved here, including Ottoman aqueducts, which serve as a reminder of how important this area was for the city.

The natural landscape consists mainly of broadleaf forests dominated by oak, with hornbeam, beech, and chestnut also found here. Belgrad Forest is valued for its relatively peaceful environment, rare for such a large city, and for the diversity of its local flora and fauna. Walking and running paths have been laid out throughout the area, and there are recreation zones and picnic spots, so both local residents and travelers come here when they want a short escape from the dense urban development.

For tourists, Belgrad Forest is interesting as an opportunity to see another side of Istanbul - not only historic neighborhoods and the shores of the Bosphorus, but also a large natural area with preserved engineering monuments. A trip here is easy to combine with relaxed leisure, a visit to the Ataturk Arboretum, and exploration of the northern districts of the European side of the city.
