Kaleucagiz, officially Ucagiz, is located on the coast of the Demre district, west of central Antalya. The village lies deep within the sheltered Kekova Bay and is known primarily as a convenient starting point for boat routes across the waters of the same name. The modern village stands on the site of ancient Teimiussa, one of the Lycian settlements along this coast. In Kaleucagiz itself and near the shore, you can see Lycian sarcophagi, fragments of ancient masonry, and other traces of antique development. Opposite lies Kalekoy, associated with ancient Simena, while the waters of Kekova preserve submerged ruins that are usually shown during sea excursions.
