Kursunlu National Park
Kursunlu National Park in Antalya, Turkey
Kursunlu National Park is located in the Aksu district, about 19 km northeast of Antalya city center. It is a small natural area around the waterfall of the same name, which received protected status in 1986. The park is most often visited for walks among the forest, limestone cliffs, and cool pools located not far from the urban area.
The park's main feature is the Kursunlu Waterfall, which is about 18 meters high. The flow does not form a single straight wall of water: it descends in a cascade into several basins and ponds, so the route through the park is built around viewpoints and paths along the water. At different times of the year, the volume of water may vary, which affects the appearance of the cascades.
The landscape here is typical of the Mediterranean part of southern Turkey: pines, shrubs, shaded areas, and moist vegetation near the water. Fish and freshwater turtles can be seen in the ponds, and birds in the tree canopies. This combination of shade, water, and short walking routes makes the park a convenient place for those who want to escape Antalya briefly and spend time in nature.
Kursunlu is of interest primarily as a მშვიდная natural stop rather than as a large national park with long routes. People come here to walk along the equipped paths, view the waterfall from different angles, and spend a few hours in a cooler and greener environment than on the coast or in the city center.

Kursunlu National Park - walking trails and viewing platforms
Short routes pass among water, cliffs, and shaded pine areas.

Inside the park, short walking paths and wooden walkways lead to viewing platforms by the water. The route is easy, but some sections may be wet and slippery, especially near the cascades. The main activity here is a leisurely walk, observing the water, trees, and small ponds hidden in the recesses of the cliffs.
Visitors usually pay attention not only to the waterfall itself, but also to the surrounding vegetation. Pines and shrubs grow in the shaded areas, while species that require constant moisture can be found closer to the water. Fish and turtles are often visible in the clear ponds, so the park suits those interested in calm natural locations and photography.
One to two hours is usually enough for a visit, depending on the walking pace and the number of stops at the viewpoints. It is better to come in comfortable shoes and keep in mind that during the hot season there are often noticeably more people here than in the morning or on weekdays. The ancient city of Perge and the Aspendos Theatre are nearby and are often included in the same trip around the eastern part of the Antalya area.
The most convenient way to reach the park is by car or taxi from central Antalya; the journey usually takes about half an hour, depending on traffic.
