Old Plane Tree in Inkaya in Bursa, Turkey on the ascent to Uludag
The Old Plane Tree in Inkaya is located in the Inkaya quarter of the Osmangazi district, on the road from Bursa city center to Mount Uludag. Once a separate village, today - an urban neighborhood on the ascent toward the mountain massif. In Turkish the tree is known as Inkaya Cinari.
It is an Oriental plane tree (Platanus orientalis), among the oldest and largest in Turkey. Its age is estimated at about 600 years, its height at around 35 m, and the trunk circumference at about 10 m. The tree is protected as a memorial specimen, with an information plaque at its base, and its heavy branches are supported by metal props for preservation.
A viewing platform has been arranged around it for safe observation, and simple cafes and tea gardens operate beneath the canopy and nearby. The spot is popular with Bursa residents and those heading to Uludag, so it is convenient to make a short stop here and see an ancient plane tree typical of the region.

The plane tree stands out with its massive trunk, from which several large branches spread at a low height, creating broad shade. The crown is clearly visible from the paved platform, and natural hollows and textured bark are visible on the trunk, making it easy to gauge the tree's age. It is a calm place for a break and photos on the way into the mountains.
The area around the tree is landscaped and fenced so that visitors can come close and view the plane tree without damaging it. Tea gardens and small cafes operate under the canopy and nearby, where you can have tea and a snack. Access is directly from the highway, and many make a brief stop here before continuing the ascent.
From here the route continues to Uludag National Park and the ski resort, and lower on the slope lies the Cekirge district with historic thermal springs. The easiest way to reach the plane tree is by car along the road from Bursa city center toward Uludag.
