Views of the Old Port
Old Port
Old Port, Antalya, Turkey
The Old Port is located in the historic Kaleici district in the center of Antalya. It is the ancient harbor of Attaleia, around which the city developed from the 2nd century BC.
The outline of the natural bay, the stone facings of the quays and fragments of the fortification walls with towers on the slopes above the water have survived to this day. In several places old cannons are displayed as museum exhibits.
Today the bay is home to a marina that welcomes pleasure yachts and small boats. The waterfront is used as a pedestrian promenade with views of the coastal cliffs and the bay's waters.
Around the port stretches the traditional low-rise development of Kaleici: 1-3-story houses with tiled roofs, narrow streets and inner courtyards, which convey the atmosphere of the historic center well.

Boat trips and easy access to the Old Port
Short boat tours along the coastal cliffs lasting 30-45 minutes depart from the piers, as well as longer routes to the Lower Düden Waterfall lasting 1-2 hours. Tickets are sold on site at the piers; schedules depend on the season and the weather.
There are viewing platforms and cafes with terraces above the harbor, navigation lights stand on the breakwaters at the entrance to the port, and on the eastern side beside the water is the city beach Mermerli. Near the port it's worth visiting the Antalya Toy Museum, and within walking distance are Hidirlik Tower, Yivli Minaret and Hadrian's Gate.
In the waterside shops and on the nearby streets of Kaleici you can buy ceramics, textiles, copperware, spices and local sweets, and street artists often work along the promenade.
The easiest way to reach it is by the stairs or the panoramic lift from Republic Square, where the nearest parking and public transport stops are located.
