Samanid Central Park of Culture and Leisure
Samanid Central Park of Culture and Leisure in Bukhara
Samanid Central Park of Culture and Leisure is located in the central part of Bukhara, next to the Samanid Mausoleum and not far from other monuments of the old city. For tourists, it is a convenient green area that can be included in a walk between historical sights.
The park grounds are connected with a site important to the history of Bukhara: old urban spaces were once located here, and in the past there was a cemetery, from which individual mausoleums and memorial elements have been preserved. During the Soviet period, the park was redesigned as a public recreation area and for a long time bore the name of Kirov.
In its layout, the park resembles classic Soviet-era city parks: there are walking alleys, shaded areas, a pond, and places for quiet relaxation. The grounds also contain the Mourning Mother monument and a memorial wall, which give the place a commemorative character.
Today, the park is of interest primarily as a peaceful stop during a visit to Bukhara. Not only local residents come here, but also travelers who want to see not only the famous monuments, but also the everyday urban environment next to the historic center.

The park is suitable for a leisurely walk in the shade of the trees, a short rest between visits to architectural monuments, and observing city life. People usually stroll here with their families, sit on benches, walk along the wide paths, and stop by the water.
One of the features of this place is the combination of an ordinary city park with a historical and memorial setting. In addition to green areas, the grounds contain memorial sites connected with the memory of the fallen, as well as several preserved mausoleums that recall the past of this part of Bukhara.
The park is especially convenient for those who are already visiting the Samanid Mausoleum, the Bolo Hauz Mosque, the Ark Fortress, or other sights in central Bukhara. It offers an opportunity to pause on a busy route and see how the historical setting exists alongside everyday urban space.
The easiest way to get here is on foot or by taxi from the center of Bukhara, as the park is located not far from the main tourist routes of the old city.
