Bukhara Region
Bukhara Region is located in the western part of Uzbekistan, in the valley of the Zeravshan River, and represents an ancient oasis among the plains of the Kyzylkum. The center of the region is the city of Bukhara, known for its historic core and monuments of Islamic architecture.
The terrain of the region is mainly flat with oasis areas along the rivers and dry steppe and desert landscapes around. The irrigation network and fertile plots create a contrast between green gardens and the surrounding desert.
The climate is continental and sharply contrasting: hot dry summers and cool winters. The best seasons to visit the region are spring and autumn, when the weather is most comfortable for city walks and desert excursions.

The main attraction of the region is the Historic Center of Bukhara, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, where mosques, mausoleums, minarets and medieval madrasahs are concentrated. Among the landmark monuments are the Poi-Kalyan complex, the Ark and the Samanid Mausoleum.
