Sea Market in the Old Town
Sea Market in the Old Town, Antalya, Turkey
The Sea Market in the Old Town is a lively shopping street in historic Kaleici in Antalya, descending to the Kaleici Old Marina. The place is convenient for walking between the upper part of the Old Town and the harbor, so it is almost always busy.
Dozens of souvenir and craft shops line the street. They sell textiles and peshtemal towels, spices and sweets, ceramics, jewelry, leather and wood products, magnets and amulets. In high season many artisans offer their own handmade works.
The Sea Market is interesting because it combines shopping with the atmosphere of Kaleici: cobbled streets with steps, facades of old houses and proximity to the waterfront. It is a convenient spot to combine shopping with a walk through the Old Town and access to the sea.

Souvenirs and crafts at the Kaleici Old Marina
Here you can choose useful, travel-friendly purchases: peshtemal towels, cotton scarves, tea and spices, lokum and other sweets, painted ceramics, costume jewelry and amulets. In summer some vendors are local artisans offering unique handmade items.
Nearby are the Kaleici Old Marina with berths for pleasure boats, Hadrian's Gate, the Clock Tower and the Yivli Minaret - it is convenient to plan a route to see these sights together.
Shops usually open from late morning and stay open until late evening, especially in the summer; in winter some outlets are closed. The area has many cafes, bars and restaurants. Cash and bank cards are accepted, and haggling is common; the district is touristy and prices are higher than outside Kaleici. Roads are narrow and uneven, with level changes - it may be inconvenient with strollers or for those with limited mobility.
The easiest way is to walk from the Tekeli Mehmet Pasha Mosque following signs to the Kaleici Old Marina.
