Uludag Ski Center
Uludag Ski Center in Bursa, Turkey
Uludag Ski Center is located in the mountains south of the city center of Bursa, within Uludag National Park. The main winter recreation areas are situated at elevations of about 1,750-2,500 meters, so stable snow cover usually forms here during the season. Thanks to its proximity to Bursa and convenient access, Uludag remains one of the best-known destinations for winter holidays in Turkey.
Mount Uludag has been known since ancient times as the Olympus of Bithynia. In the Byzantine era, this mountain area was associated with monasteries and hermit settlements, which is why the name Kesisdag - Mountain of Monks was also used. Later, the area was granted national park status, and modern tourist infrastructure began to develop actively in the 20th century.
In winter, visitors come here for skiing and snowboarding: the area offers slopes of varying difficulty, lifts, rental points, and hotels. The season most often lasts from December to March, although its duration depends on the weather. In summer and the off-season, Uludag is appealing for its coniferous forests, mountain roads, walking routes, and panoramic views of the surroundings of Bursa.
For tourists, Uludag is interesting not only as a resort but also as a convenient place for a short trip from the city. Here you can combine active recreation with a visit to the natural area of the national park. The mountain can be reached by road or by the Bursa Teleferik cable car, which connects the city's districts with the mountain part of Uludag.
