Uludag Ski Resort

Uludag Ski Resort - Bursa, Turkey

Uludag Ski Resort is located within Uludag National Park, on the slopes of the mountain of the same name, about 35 km from Bursa. The base area sits at around 1,700 m, and the climate here is suitable for a reliable winter stay.

Uludag has been known since antiquity as Olympus of Bithynia, and in Byzantine times the area was a center of monastic life, which for a long time gave rise to the name Keshishdag - the Mountain of the Monks. The national park was established in 1961, and modern tourist infrastructure developed during the 20th century.

Today Uludag is one of the most popular ski areas in Turkey. The season usually runs from December to March and can sometimes be extended when snow cover is stable. The slopes suit both first-timers and more confident skiers.

In summer visitors come for the cool forests and panoramas: marked hiking and cycling routes, viewpoints and equipped picnic clearings are available. It is easy to reach from Bursa by mountain road or via the Bursa Teleferik cable car.

How the Uludag resort is organized: zones, runs and post-ski activities

The skiing area is divided into First and Second hotel zones, connected by a network of runs. The upper sections cross open slopes with wide fields for carving turns, while lower parts enter forested stretches for comfortable, relaxed skiing. Main lines are regularly groomed, T-bar and chair lifts operate, and some short runs belong to hotels.

Beginners will find training slopes near the hotel area, where instructors and kids' schools operate; rental points and lockers are nearby. Families will appreciate the gentle forest sections and promenade zones, while more confident skiers will enjoy the longer upper descents.

There are cafes and restaurants with local cuisine on the slopes and in the hotel area. For variety you can descend to Bursa: see the Grand Ulu Mosque, the Green Mosque and the Koza Han market, and in the Cekirge district visit historic thermal baths and try the signature Iskender kebab in one of the city's classic establishments.

How to get there: from central Bursa to the Teferyuch area there is public transport and taxis, then the Bursa Teleferik cable car takes you directly to the hotel zone; in good weather the mountain road through the national park gates is also accessible.
