Uzunyali Marmaris Travel Guide
Uzunyali, Marmaris
Uzunyali is a district of Marmaris in Turkey’s Aegean Region. It forms the long seafront strip of central Marmaris, directly connected to the town centre and stretching east from the harbour and old town along the coast. Facing Marmaris Bay, it has a flat, urban waterfront setting with a continuous promenade beside the sea.
Uzunyali is known for its long beachfront, lined with hotels, restaurants, cafes, and bars. Marmaris Beach is the area’s main focus, with sections used for swimming, sunbathing, and seaside lounging. Many visitors come here during holiday stays because it is one of Marmaris’s main waterfront walking areas, combining beach time, dining, and evening strolls along one busy coastal strip. Nearby landmarks include Marmaris Marina, Netsel Marina, Ataturk Statue, and the wider central nightlife area around Bar Street.
Uzunyali is easy to reach on foot from central Marmaris. Local dolmus minibuses and taxis also connect it with other parts of Marmaris, and Dalaman Airport is the main airport for the area, with road transfers taking around one and a half to two hours. Once there, most visitors get around on foot along the promenade, often using it as a route between the harbour side of Marmaris and the eastern beachfront hotel zone.

Main areas in Uzunyali
The main places to see in Uzunyali are Marmaris Beach and the long seafront promenade that runs beside it. The beach is the core attraction, while the waterfront offers open views across Marmaris Bay towards the marina and surrounding hills. At the western end of the wider waterfront area, Marmaris Marina and Netsel Marina are close and easy to reach, and Ataturk Statue marks the transition from the harbour side into the seafront strip.
Uzunyali has a dense, mixed coastal layout, with hotels, restaurants, cafes, bars, and beach facilities along the waterfront. The promenade continues along the coast, making walking the main way to explore and one of the most practical things to do here. The area feels busy, social, and strongly tourist-oriented, especially in summer, and is more urban and active than the quieter bays around Marmaris.
Beyond sightseeing, visitors mainly use Uzunyali for beach time, casual dining, and evening walks. Tourist services are concentrated along the seafront, including casual restaurants, sea-view terraces, and small retail outlets. The district also forms part of the local night-out scene, as its seafront bars and restaurants connect easily with the nearby Bar Street area.
