Doi Inthanon Mountain in Alanya, Turkey and Route Features
Doi Inthanon Mountain is not located in Alanya, in the Kestel district, and is not one of the attractions of Turkey. It is a mountain peak in northern Thailand, in Chiang Mai Province, known as the highest point in the country - 2,565 meters above sea level. It is part of Doi Inthanon National Park, which is considered one of the most visited natural areas in northern Thailand.
For tourists, this destination is interesting for its combination of high-altitude landscapes and well-organized nature trails. In the park, you can see mountain forests, cloud-covered areas with a humid, cool climate, waterfalls, viewpoints, and short paths suitable for independent exploration. Because of the altitude, the temperature here is usually lower than in Chiang Mai and in the lowland areas of the region, especially in the morning and during the cool dry season.
The summit is associated with the name of King Inthawichayanon, one of the last rulers of Chiang Mai. In addition to its natural sites, the area is known for the royal pagodas built in honor of King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit. Doi Inthanon should be considered a separate travel destination in northern Thailand, rather than a place to visit during a holiday in Kestel or other districts of Alanya.

Within the national park, visitors usually go up to the marker of the country's highest point, walk along short boardwalks through sections of cloud forest, and stop at viewpoints. In clear weather, there are views of mountain ridges and forested slopes, while during the foggy season the landscape changes quickly throughout the day. Because of the humidity and altitude, the air here is noticeably cooler than in the lowland parts of northern Thailand.
Among the most famous sites in the area are the two royal pagodas, surrounded by well-kept gardens and viewing terraces. The park also contains several waterfalls, including popular stops along driving routes, and nature trails of varying lengths where you can observe mountain vegetation and birds. Some routes are accessible independently, while certain sections may require a local guide.
Near the main visiting points there are rural settlements of hill tribes and additional scenic spots within the park. Most often, visitors come here by car or on an excursion from Chiang Mai, and the journey takes several hours depending on the route and stops.
