Eyup Sultan Cemetery is located in the Eyup district on the European side of Istanbul, on the slopes of the hill behind the Eyup Sultan Mosque, not far from the shore of the Golden Horn. The cemetery is also associated with the rare burial sites of Ottoman executioners, which, according to common belief, were located separately and often remained anonymous. Nearby are the Eyup Sultan Mosque, the mausoleum of Abu Ayyub al-Ansari, and the viewpoint on Pierre Loti Hill.
It is convenient to get here from the central districts of Istanbul by bus or taxi to the square by the Eyup Sultan Mosque, after which you need to walk uphill to the cemetery. You can also take the cable car to the top of Pierre Loti Hill and then walk part of the route from top to bottom.
