Konakli Town
Konakli Town in Konakli, Turkey by the sea
Konakli is a resort town west of central Alanya, on Turkey's Mediterranean coast. It is about 10-12 km from the central districts of Alanya, so it is often chosen by those who want to stay by the sea, but not in the liveliest part of the resort. The nearest airport is Gazipasa-Alanya, although a significant number of tourists still arrive via Antalya Airport and then continue along the coastal highway.
Konakli developed primarily as a beach holiday area, and today its development is largely linked to tourism. Along the coast are hotels, apartments, shops, cafes, and other everyday services for holidaymakers. At the same time, the town itself maintains a calmer pace compared to central Alanya, especially away from the main walking streets and large hotel complexes.
The coastline in Konakli is mostly sandy and pebbly, but conditions vary noticeably from one section to another. In some places, entry into the water is relatively convenient, while in others there are stone slabs, pebbles, and slippery rocks, so when choosing a beach it is worth paying attention to the characteristics of the specific spot. For a holiday here, the basic infrastructure is usually sufficient: there are supermarkets, pharmacies, small shopping rows, exchange offices, restaurants, and a weekly market.
For tourists, Konakli is appealing as a peaceful base by the sea and a convenient starting point for trips around the area. From here, you can quickly reach Alanya Castle, the Red Tower, Damlatas Cave, the Alanya Archaeological Museum, and the recreational areas by the Dimcay River. Thanks to the buses and dolmuses that run along the coast, getting between Konakli, Alanya, and neighboring resorts is usually easy.

Here, seaside relaxation, everyday infrastructure, and convenient connections come together.
Beach area with a market, shops, and convenient access to Alanya
Konakli suits those looking for a combination of resort infrastructure and a calmer everyday environment. It is convenient to stay here for a few days or for the entire holiday: the village has grocery stores, pharmacies, ATMs, cafes, bakeries, small shopping centers, and services that tourists use every day. On Wednesdays, the local market usually operates, where people come for fruits, vegetables, sweets, spices, textiles, and inexpensive household goods.
The main reason people come here is the sea and accommodation close to the shore. Many hotels in Konakli have their own sections of beach or equipped access to the water, and in public areas you can find sun loungers, shades, and showers. Before swimming, it is useful to assess the exact section of coast you are going to: on some parts of the shoreline there is not only sand and small pebbles, but also stone platforms, so special footwear is sometimes more convenient for entering the water.
The village itself is not associated with a large number of historical landmarks, but it is convenient for a relaxing holiday between the sea, walks, and short outings. From Konakli, people often go to the center of Alanya, where the castle, the Red Tower, Damlatas Cave, and the waterfront are located, as well as to the areas by the Dimcay River, which are popular for lunch and relaxing in the shade. If you want to combine a beach day with shopping or a walk around town, this location is especially convenient.
You can usually get here by transfer, taxi, rental car, or by bus along the D400 highway from central Alanya and neighboring resorts.
