Oymapinar Reservoir is located north of Side, away from the sea coast, in the mountainous part of the Manavgat district. It was formed by a dam on the Manavgat River and is among the large freshwater bodies in this part of Antalya Province. The reservoir is situated at an elevation of about 300 meters above sea level, and its area is approximately 4.7-4.8 sq. km.
This place is interesting primarily for its natural landscape. The body of water is surrounded by slopes, forested areas, and agricultural plantations typical of the surroundings of Manavgat. Along the way here, you can see pomegranate, citrus, and almond orchards, and the area itself is noticeably different from the resort strip by the sea.
The water in the reservoir is usually cooler than on the beaches of Side, since it is fed by the mountain waters of the river. Therefore, people come here more often not for swimming, but for the views, walks in the surrounding area, boat trips, and stops at panoramic points. In open sources, the depth is indicated differently, but the reservoir is considered deep.
Oymapinar is suitable for those who want to see the inland part of the region and take a short trip from the center of Side or from Manavgat. It is a მშვიდ natural location that is usually combined with a visit to the Green Canyon, river routes, and viewpoints in the mountains.
