The ancient city of Alinda is located in Aydin Province in southwestern Turkey, in a mountainous area above the Cine Valley. Alinda is known from the events of the 4th century BC. The city is associated with the Carian ruler Ada, who lived here after a dynastic conflict. In 334 BC, she met Alexander the Great in Alinda during his campaign in Asia Minor, and this episode holds an important place in the history of the region.
Today, visitors can see fragments of fortification walls, towers, a theater, remains of the marketplace, terraces, cisterns, and the ruins of large public buildings.
