The ancient city of Amos is located near the resort village of Turunc, in the Marmaris area, on a hillside above the sea. It is a small archaeological site of Caria in southwestern Turkey, situated away from the major tourist centers. Amos is associated with the Hellenistic and Roman periods, when the coastal cities of Caria played a notable role in maritime trade and local defense.
