Barak-Khan Madrasah is located in the old part of Tashkent, within the Hast-Imam ensemble, which is considered one of the city's main historical and religious centers. The complex dates back to the 16th century and is interesting because it combines the madrasah itself with earlier mausoleums incorporated into its architectural composition.

To the left of the entrance is the so-called Nameless Mausoleum, and nearby is the mausoleum of Suyunij-Khan. According to the most widespread version, the madrasah was added specifically to the tomb of Suyunij-Khan, the father of Barak-Khan, and over time the entire complex came to bear the name of Barak-Khan. At the same time, Barak-Khan himself, despite the name, is buried elsewhere.

The building is characterized by an elongated inner courtyard, the portal of the main facade, corner towers, and hujra cells where students lived. The complex also includes a darskhana, a domed hall for classes. The architecture of the madrasah makes it possible to see how educational and memorial functions were combined in a single structure, which makes it especially interesting for those studying the history of Islamic architecture in Central Asia.

Over several centuries, the madrasah was repeatedly damaged and restored. In the 20th century, religious institutions were housed here, and today the building remains part of the Hast-Imam ensemble. Tourists come here to see one of the notable monuments of old Tashkent and at the same time explore other historic buildings in this quarter.
