Duden Park
Duden Park in Antalya, Turkey on a coastal cliff
Duden Park is located in the east of Antalya, in the Lara district, along the line of the high sea shore. It is an urban coastal park known primarily for its view of the Lower Duden Waterfall, where the waters of the Duden River plunge from a cliff directly into the Mediterranean Sea. Thanks to its location on the edge of the cliffs, the park combines a walking area with one of the most notable natural landmarks on this stretch of coastline.
The Duden River is connected to a karst system and in different sections flows both on the surface and underground. In the surroundings of Antalya, two of the most famous waterfalls are associated with it - Upper and Lower Duden. Lower Duden stands out because its flow reaches the sea directly from the coastal escarpment, which is uncommon for the region and makes this place easily recognizable.
The park area stretches along the upper part of the cliff. Walking paths have been laid out here, viewing platforms have been arranged, and areas for short rest with views of the sea and cliffs have been created. Visitors come here to see the waterfall from land, observe the coastline, take photographs, and simply walk along the sea without a difficult route.
The park is open throughout the year and is usually accessible free of charge. It is convenient for a short stop during a trip around Antalya, especially if you are in Lara or heading toward the coast east of central Antalya. It is best to allow time not only for viewing the waterfall itself, but also for a walk along the paths by the cliff.

Viewing platforms above the waterfall and cliff by the sea
The main thing that attracts visitors is the opportunity to see how the stream of water drops from the rocky edge into the sea and then disperses below at the foot of the shore. From different points in the park, slightly different angles open up: in some places the stream itself is more visible, in others the line of the cliffs and the open sea. In clear weather, a wide stretch of the coastline can be seen well from here.
The park is suitable for a calm walk without special preparation. There are usually paths, benches, areas with lawns, and trees on the grounds, so people come here not only for the view of the waterfall, but also for a short rest by the sea. For photography, the platforms at the edge of the cliff are especially convenient, and in the evening many people stay here because of the changing light over the water.
An interesting option is to see Lower Duden not only from above, but also from the sea: the waterfall is often included in boat trips along the Antalya coastline. Nearby are the neighborhoods of Lara, coastal walking areas, and viewpoints on the high shore, which can be combined into one trip.
The park is usually reached by taxi, city bus, or car from central Antalya and from the Lara district. Before the trip, it is worth considering that it can be windy by the water, and there may be little shade on the open sections of the cliff during the day.
