Yavuz Ozcan Park

Yavuz Ozcan Park in Muratpasa, Antalya, Turkey

Yavuz Ozcan Park is located in the Muratpasa district, in the center of Antalya, on a high rocky shore near the Kaleici quarter. It is a small urban public space where people come for a short walk, to relax in the shade, and to enjoy views of the coast. From its platforms, there are clear views of the Mediterranean Sea, the Old Harbor, and the Beydaglari Mountains on the horizon.

The park is arranged on terraces and landscaped for walking. There are paths, palm trees and other plants typical of the Mediterranean climate, as well as decorative water features, cascades, and fountains. Thanks to its location on the cliffs, the park is perceived above all as a convenient viewpoint within the city limits.

On the grounds there is a monument to the Seljuk Sultan Ghiyath al-Din Kaykhusraw I, whose name is associated with the history of Antalya in the medieval period. For this reason, a walk through the park can be combined not only with panoramic views but also with an interest in the city's past. It is especially convenient to include it in a route through central Antalya together with Kaleici and the Old Harbor.

The park is suitable for those who want to step away briefly from the busy streets and look at the sea from above without leaving the city center. Admission is free, so people often stop by between visits to nearby attractions.

Viewing terraces above the Old Harbor and the seashore

The main feature of this place is the open views from the edge of the coastal cliffs. From the observation platforms, you can see the shoreline, boats and yachts in the Old Harbor, as well as the urban development rising above the bay. It is best to come in clear weather, when the distant mountain ranges are clearly visible.

For visitors, there are convenient short walking routes without difficult terrain, with places to stop and rest. The greenery makes the park shadier compared to the open streets around it, while the decorative cascades and fountains add coolness during the hot season. This is more a place for a calm break and photographs than for a long stay.

Nearby are the Kaleici quarter, Hadrian's Gate, the Old Harbor, and several city viewpoints, so the park is easy to include in a walking route through central Antalya. If you are already strolling through the historic district, it is convenient to stop here for 15-30 minutes on the way to the waterfront or back.

The easiest way to get there is on foot or by taxi from the central districts of Antalya. If traveling by public transport, people usually get off near the city center and continue on foot for a few minutes.
