Lara Beach
Lara Beach in Antalya, Turkey - a long urban sandy shore
Lara Beach is located in eastern Antalya, between the urban area and the resort zone of Kundu. It is one of the longest stretches of sandy beach in the city’s surroundings: the shore here is wide, with soft sand, and in some places there are small pebbles right by the water. The entry into the sea is gentle in most sections, so the coastline is often chosen for relaxed swimming and holidays with children.
Lara is known as one of Antalya’s main beach areas. Public sections and well-equipped hotel beaches stand side by side here, so conditions can vary noticeably depending on the exact location. In some parts of the coast, the Blue Flag has been awarded in different years - an international designation indicating compliance with a number of requirements for water cleanliness, safety, and basic infrastructure.
For tourists, Lara is primarily attractive as a convenient city beach close to Antalya’s center and the airport. People come here not only for the sea, but also for walks along the coast, especially in the evening hours when it is less hot. The beach suits those who want to combine swimming with trips around the city and visits to nearby attractions.
Nearby are Lara Kent Park and viewpoints on the rocky shore, while to the west lies Lower Duden Waterfall, which flows directly into the Mediterranean Sea. Thanks to this location, a holiday at Lara can easily be complemented by short walks and trips to natural sites nearby.

Infrastructure and access to Lara Beach
A convenient city beach with areas for swimming and walking.
Long sandy coastline close to the city and the airport
Lara’s coastline stretches for several kilometers, and its different sections vary noticeably in layout. Public areas usually have zones with sunbeds and umbrellas, showers, changing cabins, toilets, cafés, and seasonal rental points. On hotel beaches, the infrastructure is generally more private and aimed at guests of specific complexes.
At the beach, you can swim, sunbathe, walk along the sea, and spend time on spacious sandy sections where it is usually easier to find a spot even in high season. In the morning, the sea is often calmer, while in the afternoon waves are possible when it is windy. In summer, it is worth bearing in mind that the sand and open stretches of the shore heat up strongly, so it is more comfortable to come with water, headwear, and beach shoes.
In the surrounding area are Lara Kent Park, Lower Duden Waterfall, and the Sandland sand sculpture exhibition, if it is operating during your trip. You can reach the beach from central Antalya by public transport, taxi, or car; the journey usually does not take much time, but traffic jams are possible in season.
