Konyaalti Beach

Konyaalti Beach, Antalya, Turkey

Konyaalti Beach is Antalya's main city beach on the western edge of the city center. It is an extensive coastal stretch about 7 km long, with mainly pebbly and sand-pebble sections. A large part of the coast is marked with the Blue Flag, the water is usually clear, and the Beydağları mountains can be seen on the horizon.

The beach is public and free to access. The shoreline is open to everyone and separated from hotels by a road and promenade, so even close to development the beach remains accessible to residents and visitors.

The Konyaalti promenade was renovated in 2018 as part of a city improvement project: wide walking alleys, a bike lane, rest areas and landscaping were installed. The area is popular with locals and tourists for walks and sports.

The eastern part of the beach is convenient for combining seaside relaxation with visits to city museums and parks. The swimming season usually runs from May to October. On some sections depth increases quickly and in rough conditions there can be strong shore-break waves, so exercise caution and consider wearing water shoes.

Konyaalti: about 7 km of promenade, sports and seaside relaxation

Municipal sections have showers, changing cabins and toilets; lifeguards are on duty in high season. Along the coast you can find sun lounger and umbrella rentals, as well as cafes and beach-club style venues at different spots on the promenade.

Water activities are available depending on the section and season: SUP boards, kayaks, jet skiing and parasailing. The promenade is suitable for running and cycling, and there are outdoor exercise machines and sports zones on some platforms.

Near the beach are Antalya Aquarium, Aqualand and the dolphinarium, Aktur Park amusement park, and the 5M Migros shopping center - all within walking distance from the eastern part of Konyaalti.

How to get there: From Antalya city center it's convenient to take the nostalgic tram to the Museum stop and walk to the eastern edge of the beach; city buses also go to the Konyaalti area. Taxis, bike and scooter rentals are available along the promenade, and there are parking bays.
