Marmaris City Beach

Marmaris City Beach by the promenade toward Icmeler

Marmaris City Beach is located along the central part of the resort, deep inside a large bay, and stretches along the promenade toward Icmeler. It is one of the most accessible beaches in the city: it is easy to reach from the center of Marmaris, hotels, shops, cafes, and the seafront walking area. For many tourists, it becomes the main place for short swims and relaxation without traveling beyond the resort.

Marmaris is located in southwestern Turkey, in Mugla Province, in an area where the waters of the Aegean and Mediterranean Seas meet nearby. The resort itself has long been known as a major center for seaside holidays and yachting, and its natural bay protects the shore well from strong waves. Thanks to this, the water here is most often calm, and the beach is convenient for a regular beach holiday.

The surface of the city beach is mainly a mix of sand and pebbles, with larger pebbles in some places, and the entry into the water is usually gentle. Along the shore there are beach sections belonging to hotels and establishments, where you can rent sun loungers and umbrellas, as well as public areas for free use. On the nearby promenade there are cafes, shops, and seasonal water activity points.

This beach is chosen primarily for its convenient location and developed urban infrastructure. At the same time, the water in the central part of the bay is not always considered the clearest in the area, so some visitors combine relaxing here with trips to the beaches of Icmeler or to quieter bays near Marmaris. For tourists who want to stay close to both the city and the sea, this is a practical option.

Marmaris City Beach

Long promenade, calm bay, and relaxation near the center of the resort

Marmaris City Beach is suitable for those who want to combine swimming with walks around the resort. The coastline here is long, so you can walk a considerable distance along the sea without leaving the beach area. In the morning and evening, the promenade is especially convenient for walking, while during the day most of the activity is concentrated by the water and in the seaside cafes.

Conditions vary slightly along different sections of the beach: in some places the shore is narrower and closer to the road, while in others there is more space for sun loungers and relaxation. In season, water activities are available, usually offered by private operators, including pedal boats and other water развлечения. Before swimming, it is worth bearing in mind that boats and excursion vessels may be nearby in the central part of the resort, so the calmest areas are usually chosen farther from the busiest parts of the marina.

While relaxing here, it is convenient to combine the beach with a walk to Marmaris Marina, the Ataturk Monument, the shopping streets, and the old part of the town with Marmaris Castle. If you want a longer coastal walk, you can continue along the promenade toward Icmeler, where the beach strip continues along the shore.

The city beach is usually easy to reach on foot from the center of Marmaris, and dolmus minibuses run here regularly from Icmeler and other areas. If you are staying in the central part of the resort, separate transport is usually not needed.
