Olympos Teleferik Cable Car
Olympos Teleferik Cable Car in the Olympos-Cirali Area, Turkey
The Olympos Teleferik cable car is located in the mountains west of Kemer, between the coast near Tekirova and the high-altitude part of the Beydaglari massif. It takes passengers to the summit of Tahtalidag, which is also known as Mount Olympos. The route runs within Beydaglari National Park and connects the Mediterranean coast with one of the highest viewpoints in this part of Antalya.
The cable car has been operating since 2007 and is considered one of the longest mountain cable lines in the region. The lower station is located at an altitude of about 726 m, and the upper station at 2365 m above sea level. The length of the line is approximately 4350 m, and the ascent usually takes about 10 minutes.
During the ascent, the change in natural zones is clearly visible: below stretch pine and mixed forests, while higher up the slope becomes more open and rocky. At the summit, viewing platforms are equipped, from where in clear weather you can see the Mediterranean coast, the surroundings of Kemer, Antalya Bay, and the mountain ranges in the interior of the region.
This place is interesting for those who want to reach the high mountains in a short time without a long hiking route. The trip is suitable for getting acquainted with the nature of the national park, panoramic photography, and observing the contrast between the sea and the mountains. Before visiting, it is worth checking the weather and opening hours, as they may vary depending on the season and technical maintenance.

The cable car cabins are large and enclosed, so the ascent is comfortable at any time of year. As you move upward, the forested slopes remain below, and closer to the upper station a harsher high-mountain landscape opens up, with rocky areas and wide panoramas. At the summit itself, it is usually cooler than on the coast, so even in summer it is useful to bring a light layer with you.
At the upper station, visitors spend time on the viewing platforms, photograph the coastline, and observe how the light changes over the sea and mountains at different times of day. In good weather, the bays, the coastal strip toward Kemer, and part of the Western Taurus mountain system are visible. In winter, there is sometimes snow at the summit, which is especially striking against the warm coast below.
A cable car trip is often combined with visits to Cirali, ancient Olympos, and Tekirova Beach. The area of Mount Chimaera near Cirali is also nearby, known for its natural flames on the hillside.
The lower station is usually reached by car or transfer from Kemer and the surrounding resort villages. If you are driving yourself, it is more convenient to first head toward Tekirova and then follow the signs to Olympos Teleferik.
