The Tashkent Chimes are located in the center of Tashkent, near Amir Temur Square. This ensemble of two towers has long served as a prominent landmark in the urban landscape and is well known to both residents and visitors of the capital. The historic tower appeared in the postwar years and over time became one of the recognizable features of the city's central area.
The first tower was built in 1947. Four clock faces are placed on its facades, so the clock is visible from different sides of the street. The structure is associated with the name of I. A. Eisenstein, who brought the clock mechanism to Tashkent from Allenstein, now Olsztyn in Poland. Architect A. A. Mukhamedshin and ornamental artist Sh. Muradova took part in the design of the tower.
In 2009, a second tower was built nearby, conceived as an architectural pair to the first. It repeats the main proportions of the historic building and forms a symmetrical composition with it. Thanks to this, the Tashkent Chimes are perceived not as a separate object, but as a unified ensemble that fits well into the space of the city center.
For tourists, this place is interesting primarily as part of a city route through central Tashkent. It is convenient to come here during a walk around the area near Amir Temur Square to see one of the city's well-known symbols, notice the architectural details, and feel how postwar and modern Tashkent coexist in one space.

Today, visitors see not one tower, but two standing side by side and forming a recognizable composition. The historic part of the ensemble has an earlier appearance, while the second tower, built much later, supports the same image and creates the effect of an architectural dialogue. The chimes are best viewed from a short distance to notice the symmetry, proportions, and placement of the clock faces on the facades.
This place is usually included in a walking route through the center of Tashkent. It is convenient to make a short stop here, view the towers from different sides, and walk along the nearby streets, where the rhythm of the central city is clearly felt. In the evening, the ensemble is especially noticeable in the city panorama thanks to the open square around it.
Nearby are Amir Temur Square, the State Museum of the Timurids, and several central streets with cafes and shops, so a visit to the chimes can easily be combined with other points on the route. This makes the location convenient for those who want to get acquainted with the central part of Tashkent without long transfers.
