Ulupinar
Ulupinar in the surroundings of Kemer, Turkey
Ulupinar is located in the surroundings of Kemer, in a mountain valley at the foot of the Taurus Mountains. People come here for the cool air, water from karst springs, and the peaceful natural setting, which is noticeably different from the beach areas along the coast. For many tourists, it is a convenient short trip from central Kemer or nearby resort villages.
The area is known for its river and the system of cold springs that feed it throughout the year. Fish farms and restaurants operate along the water, where tables and wooden platforms are often placed directly above the current or right by the shore. Instead of large natural landmarks, the appeal here lies in the shade of the trees, the fast-flowing water, small rapids, and the overall cooler microclimate.
Ulupinar has long been associated with trout farming, so fish dishes have become the main feature of this place. Visitors usually spend several hours here: having lunch, walking along the water, relaxing in the shade, and, if they wish, trying fishing. Swimming is not possible everywhere, and the water remains very cold even in summer, so this kind of отдых does not suit everyone.
For tourists, Ulupinar is primarily interesting as a natural complement to a seaside holiday. A trip here is often combined with a visit to the ancient city of Phaselis, the cable car to Tahtali, or other places around Kemer. This destination is chosen by those who want to leave the noisy resort area for a while and see a different landscape of the region.

Ulupinar - what to see and practical tips
Cool air and mountain springs create a peaceful setting for a short stop.
Mountain springs, trout farms, and relaxation by the water
Life in Ulupinar is centered mainly along the riverbed and around the cold springs emerging from the limestone rocks. The water here is clear and very cool, so even in the hot season it feels noticeably fresher by the shore than on the coast. Rest areas are usually arranged on wooden decks, low terraces, and in gazebos by the water.
The main activity for visitors is relaxing peacefully for a few hours. People have lunch in fish restaurants serving trout, watch the flow of the water, photograph the mountain scenery, and choose tables in the shade of the trees. At some farms, you can see fish ponds, and in certain sections, try recreational fishing.
This place is less suitable for long walks than for a short stop or a leisurely lunch, as the infrastructure is primarily designed for relaxing by the water. It is better to choose comfortable, non-slip shoes: there are damp wooden platforms and rocky areas near the river. If contact with the water is planned, it is worth keeping in mind that the temperature in the springs and river remains low almost all year round.
A trip to Ulupinar is often combined with the ancient city of Phaselis, Mount Tahtali, and other routes around Kemer. The easiest way to get here is usually by car, taxi, or an organized tour from central Kemer and nearby resorts.
