Umbrella Street
Umbrella Street - Antalya, Turkey
Umbrella Street is a short pedestrian lane in the Muratpasa district in central Antalya, close to Kaleici and Ataturk Street. The project was launched in 2013: hundreds of colorful umbrellas were hung over the alley, turning it into a striking urban installation.
It quickly became a landmark for walks around the center and a popular spot on the street art map. The canopy partly solves the shade problem during the hottest hours and makes the space bright and convenient for a short stop.
Visiting is free and it's open around the clock. The best time for photos is in the morning or closer to sunset, when the light is softer and there are fewer people. The umbrella arrangement is periodically refreshed after strong winds and rains, so the color combinations change over time.

This is a short section of the city's pedestrian network in the Muratpasa area. It is usually included in routes as a link between Kaleici and the shopping streets of the centre, and a few minutes is enough to visit.
On both sides there are cafes and bistros serving sweets, light snacks, freshly squeezed juices and soft drinks; there are souvenir shops and small stores. The surface is even, but it can get crowded when there is a large flow of people.
Within a few steps are Hadrian's Gate, the Clock Tower, Republic Square and Kaleici Marina - convenient to visit together in one outing.
How to get there: take the T1 tram to Kalekapisi or Ismetpasa stops, then 3-5 minutes on foot.
