Alanya Waterfront

Alanya Waterfront in Alanya, Turkey

The Alanya Waterfront runs along the seafront in the center of Alanya, at the foot of the rocky peninsula where the fortress is located. It connects the coastal promenade areas near Cleopatra and Keykubat beaches through the port district and is considered one of the most convenient public spaces for walking by the water in the urban part of the resort.

This is a well-maintained area with pedestrian paths, places to relax, cycling sections, and greenery. During a walk, there are clear views of the port, lighthouse, breakwater, the slopes of the peninsula, and the fortress walls above. During the day, it is a convenient place to observe city life and marine traffic, and in the evening the waterfront becomes a popular route for walks along the illuminated shore.

The waterfront is closely connected with the historical character of Alanya. Nearby are the Red Tower, the Seljuk Tersane Shipyard, and the harbor from which sightseeing boats depart. For this reason, a walk along the waterfront is often combined with visiting the monuments by the port and exploring the old part of the city.

For tourists, this is a simple and straightforward route with no ascent and no special preparation required. People come here to walk along the sea, stop at scenic points, ride a bicycle, or see how Alanya's modern resort center and its historical landmarks come together in one urban space.

The atmosphere changes along different sections of the waterfront: closer to the port there is more urban activity, sightseeing boats, and viewing points, while near the beach areas the route feels calmer and more spacious. It is convenient to walk here without any particular purpose, stop by the railings overlooking the water, watch fishing boats, excursion boats, and the everyday life of the coastal part of central Alanya.

The waterfront is suitable for a short walk at any time of day. In the morning and daytime, the coastline and the slopes of the peninsula are clearly visible from here, while in the evening many choose this route for a walk after the heat. In some sections there are benches, shade from palm trees, and open spaces where it is convenient to pause and look toward the harbor or the fortress.

Nearby are the Red Tower, the Tersane Shipyard, the port area, and the beginning of the ascent to the historical quarters of the peninsula. If you want to continue the route, the walk can be combined with a visit to the harbor, a trip on a sightseeing boat, or exploring Seljuk-era monuments along the shore.

The easiest way to get here is on foot from the center of Alanya, as well as by public transport or taxi to the port district and the city's central coastal area.
