Tosmur District

Tosmur District in Alanya, Turkey

Tosmur is a coastal district in the eastern part of Alanya, about 5 km from the city center. It is located between Oba and Kestel and belongs to the quieter residential part of the resort, where tourist infrastructure is combined with everyday urban life. Residential complexes, apartment hotels, small hotels, shops, and cafés predominate here, so the area is often chosen by those who want to stay close to the sea while also having convenient access to the center of Alanya.

A distinctive feature of Tosmur is its proximity to the Dim River, which flows into the Mediterranean Sea next to the district. Thanks to the river and the nearby foothills of the Taurus Mountains, this part of the coast is often perceived as fresher and less stuffy on hot days. Trips up the Dim valley are popular because of the waterfront recreation areas and riverside restaurants, where people often go for a few hours from the coastal part of Alanya.

The district itself is focused primarily on relaxed seaside holidays. Tosmur has a long beach strip, sections of promenade for walking, supermarkets, bakeries, pharmacies, and public transport stops. From here, it is convenient to travel to the harbor, Alanya Castle, Damlatas Cave, and other city attractions, so Tosmur suits those who want to combine a beach holiday with short trips around the city.

For tourists, Tosmur is interesting not as a separate historic center, but as a convenient seaside area to stay in with quick access to natural and urban attractions. It is suitable for travelers who prefer a calmer atmosphere but do not want to stay far from the center of Alanya and the main routes along the coast.

Beach, promenade, and proximity to the Dim River

Tosmur’s coastline stretches along the eastern part of Alanya and is suitable for a regular beach holiday, walks, and short trips along the sea. In different sections, there are sandy-pebble areas, and the entry into the water may be uneven, so for swimming it is useful to pay attention to the specific part of the beach and the condition of the sea. A promenade runs along the shore, convenient for walks in the morning and evening.

It is easy to get around the district on foot: grocery stores, bakeries, pharmacies, small cafés, and everyday services operate near the residential quarters. Tosmur does not look like an isolated resort enclave, so it is easier here to feel the usual rhythm of Alanya’s urban life. This format suits those for whom not only the sea is important, but also access to familiar infrastructure without long journeys.

One of the most popular destinations near the district is the Dim River valley, which people visit for cooler air, waterside recreation areas, and riverside restaurants. The center of Alanya, Damlatas Cave, the Red Tower, and the cable car to the castle are also relatively nearby. Because of this, Tosmur is convenient as a starting point for exploring the city and its surroundings.

The district is usually reached by city buses and taxis from the center of Alanya, and the journey takes little time. If you are staying in the neighboring districts of Oba or Kestel, you can reach Tosmur in a few minutes or walk along the coast on some parts of the route.
