Atatürk Park

Atatürk Park, Antalya, Turkey

Atatürk Park is a large green area on the coast of Antalya, officially named Atatürk Kültür Parkı. The park stretches along the top of the coastal cliffs between the Konyaalti neighborhood and the Antalya Museum, with pleasant walking routes and viewpoints over the sea and mountains.

The park has shady alleys, well-kept lawns, palm and conifer trees. On the terraces by the cliff there are cafes and restaurants with views of the bay and the Beydaglari range. It is a place for peaceful walks, jogging and photos with the Mediterranean as a backdrop. Swimming from the rocks is not allowed - for a beach it's easier to go down to the promenade and Konyaalti Beach.

Nearby are popular leisure spots: Antalya Aquarium, the Aqualand and Dolphinland water parks, Aktur Park amusement park, the 5M Migros shopping center and the city stadium. The park is convenient to include in an itinerary before or after visiting these attractions, and can be combined with a walk along the long Konyaalti promenade with bike lanes and a running area.

Entry is free and the area is open around the clock. Paths are mostly flat and accessible with strollers. The park is easy to reach by city buses or taxi - use 5M Migros, Antalya Aquarium or Aktur Park as landmarks. The best times to visit are morning and evening, when it's cooler and the coastal panoramas are at their best.

Viewing terraces and the Glass Pyramid: a walk through Atatürk Park

In the central part of the park is the Sabanci Glass Pyramid - a congress and exhibition center opened in 1997. It hosts fairs, exhibitions and concerts, and over the years has staged events of the 'Golden Orange' film festival. Nearby is the Antalya open-air theater, which in summer attracts touring concerts and shows.

A convenient route through the park runs from the Antalya Museum side toward the terraces above Konyaalti: along the way there are viewpoints over the bay and the Beydaglari ridge, stairways to viewing balconies and cafes with tea gardens. For active visitors there are long, level paths that connect with the Konyaalti promenade - ideal for running and cycling.

Within walking distance of the park are the Antalya Museum and the eastern part of Konyaalti Beach, where you can easily go down for a swim after strolling the terraces.

Getting there is simple: take the nostalgic tram to the 'Museum' stop or city buses to 5M Migros/Antalya Aquarium; for drivers there is parking at the shopping center and near nearby attractions.
