Kursunlu Waterfall

Kursunlu Waterfall - Antalya, Turkey

Kursunlu Waterfall is located in Kursunlu Waterfall Nature Park, about a 20-25 minute drive from Antalya city center, in the Aksu district. The streams drop from a height of about 18 m and are fed by a tributary of the Aksu River. The name translates from Turkish as "lead".

The landscape is a compact wooded canyon with a series of rapids and calm pools. At the base of the main cascade a small lake forms, where you can see fish and turtles.

This is one of the most accessible natural spots near Antalya: people visit for short walks and photo shoots to see the Mediterranean forest of pine and laurel and relax by the water. The area is protected as a nature park.

How to get there and what to consider when visiting Kursunlu Waterfall

Be prepared for wet trails and steps.

Kursunlu Waterfall

Walking the trails and footbridges at Kursunlu

The park has a circular route of about 1.5-2 km with wooden footbridges, stairs and viewing platforms in the shade of the pine and laurel forest. The surface is sometimes wet and slippery, so shoes with non-slip soles are useful; due to steps and changes in elevation the route is difficult for strollers and visitors with limited mobility.

At the entrance there are ticket offices, a cafe and kiosks, parking and toilets; inside there are rest and picnic areas. Swimming in the lakes and under the waterfall is prohibited.

It can be crowded on weekends, so it's more comfortable to come on weekdays and in the morning. The waterfall is most plentiful in spring and after rain; in dry periods the flow decreases. Entrance is paid, and opening hours and ticket prices depend on the season, so it's best to check before your trip.

On the way it's convenient to combine the trip with a visit to the ancient city of Perge in the Aksu district. You can reach it from Antalya center by car - about 20 km via the Antalya - Serik road toward Aksu following signs for the waterfall, or by public transport to Aksu with a transfer to a taxi or dolmus.
