The amphitheatre in Kas is located on the western side of the town of Kas, in Antalya Province, not far from the center and the seafront. It is the ancient theatre of ancient Antiphellos, a Lycian city that was an important coastal settlement during the Hellenistic and Roman periods. Today, the amphitheatre remains one of the most notable archaeological sites in Kas and fits well into a walk around the town.
The theatre is partly carved into the slope and faces the sea, which is characteristic of ancient structures of this type in the region. The stone seating rows, the orchestra, and the overall shape of the structure have been preserved, making it easy to imagine the theatre's original layout. According to various estimates, it could accommodate around 4,000 spectators, and the stands consist of about 26 rows.
For tourists, this place is interesting not only as a monument of ancient architecture but also as a convenient viewpoint. From the upper rows, there are views of Kas Bay, part of the coastline, and the islands off the shore. A visit usually does not take much time, so the amphitheatre is often combined with the old town, the harbor, and other historical sites in Kas.

A visit usually takes place in a free format: there is no complex museum route here, and the tour takes from a few minutes to half an hour depending on your interest in archaeology and the views. On the upper levels, it is convenient to stop for a panorama of the sea and the town bay, especially in clear weather. The surfaces are uneven in places, so comfortable shoes are recommended for the walk.
After visiting the amphitheatre, you can walk to the center of Kas, the old streets, the harbor, and the Lycian sarcophagi found in different parts of the town. This makes it possible to combine an introduction to the ancient heritage with an ordinary walk around the resort without a separate trip.
The easiest way to get here is on foot from the center of Kas — the route takes little time and runs along town streets toward the western part of the town. Those arriving by car should keep in mind that parking nearby may be limited during the high season.
