Cleopatra Bay

Cleopatra Bay in Kemer, Turkey - a natural coastal spot

Cleopatra Bay is located off the coast of Tekirova, near Kemer, and is one of the small natural coves usually visited for a peaceful seaside break. This place does not resemble an equipped beach: the shore here is rocky, with pebbles in places, and the cove itself is surrounded by cliffs and pine-covered slopes. Thanks to its clear water and sheltered position, the bay attracts those who prefer short walks and swimming in a more secluded setting.

The name of the bay is not connected to any historically confirmed visit by Cleopatra, but rather to a local association: visitors compare one of the coastal rocks to a human profile. This detail has made the bay recognizable among people walking along the coast and participants in boat trips. There are no historical monuments or archaeological areas here, so interest in the place is primarily linked to its natural landscape.

The water in the bay usually remains clear, especially in calm weather, and in the warm season it is well suited for swimming near the shore. At the same time, entry into the sea may be uneven because of the rocks, so it is more convenient to have water shoes. The bay is more often chosen not for a full beach day, but for a short stop during a walk along the coast, relaxing on the rocks, and watching the sea.

Before visiting, it is worth considering that the infrastructure here is minimal or absent. There is usually no shade, sun loungers, showers, or permanent services, and the condition of the shore may vary depending on the season and the number of visitors. Therefore, it is better to bring water, a hat, and everything necessary for a short stay in nature.

Cleopatra Bay - shore, coastal trail, and practical tips

A secluded place for short stops and swimming by the rocky shore.

Cleopatra Bay

Rocky shore with clear water and access by trail

The shore of the bay consists of sections of pebbles, large stones, and rocky platforms overlooking the sea and passing excursion yachts. People usually stop here to swim, sit by the water, or take photos of the coastline. Because of the rocky terrain, the place is better suited to those who are comfortable with a natural shore without walkways or beach facilities.

The sea in the bay is valued for its clarity, so in calm weather you can see underwater rocks near the water’s edge and swim not far from the shore. Caution is advised on slippery sections and in rougher conditions, especially when entering the water. For long отдых with children or for those looking for a smooth sandy entry, this bay may be less convenient than the regular beaches of Tekirova.

Nearby there are other sections of the coastal trail, as well as beaches and sea views in the Tekirova area, which are often combined with a visit to the bay. People usually get here on foot from Tekirova along the coastal trail; the walk takes about half an hour, depending on the route and walking pace.

As the place is hardly developed, it is better to bring drinking water, comfortable shoes, and sun protection in advance. After rain and during the hottest hours, the path may be less comfortable, so morning or the time closer to evening is more convenient for a walk.
