Paradise Bay

Paradise Bay in Kemer, Turkey

Paradise Bay is located in the Camyuva area south of Kemer city center, on a stretch of coastline where resort development gradually gives way to calmer natural slopes. It is about 60 km from Antalya. This is a small Mediterranean bay known not so much as a typical beach spot, but rather as a place for evening trips and sea viewing.

The bay is of greatest interest because of a rare natural effect - bioluminescence. On some nights, you can see a bluish glow of the water near the shore and luminous trails when the waves move or while swimming. This effect is associated with marine microorganisms and depends on the water temperature, its condition, and the level of illumination, so it does not appear constantly.

The shore in the bay is mostly pebbly and rocky, with some sections of cliffs. Because of this, the place is better suited for a short rest, swimming, snorkeling, walking by the water, and evening visits than for spending a whole day on an equipped beach. Entry into the sea can be uneven, so many people find it more convenient to use water shoes.

Paradise Bay is of interest to those who want to see a quieter section of coastline near Kemer and combine the trip with observing the natural features of the sea. People come here for the clear water, the view of the rocky shore, and the chance to catch the unusual glow after dark, if conditions allow.

Paradise Bay

Pebbly shore and possible nighttime glow of the water

During the day, in the bay you can see clear water, a rocky shoreline, and sections of cliffs descending into the sea. The water here is suitable for swimming and snorkeling, especially in calm weather, when the bottom and underwater stones are more visible. Because of the nature of the shore, the place is better seen as a natural bay for a short отдых, rather than as a classic beach with a wide strip by the water.

In the evening, people more often come here for the dark stretch of coastline, where under favorable conditions the natural glow of the water is more noticeable. To better distinguish the bioluminescence, people usually choose the time after sunset and areas without bright lighting. At the same time, the effect may be weak or may not appear at all, so a trip here is better regarded as a walk to the sea rather than as a guaranteed observation of a rare phenomenon.

It is worth keeping in mind that closed shoes or aqua shoes are useful on the rocky shore, and a flashlight will be handy for an evening visit. Usually, developed infrastructure is not expected on site, so it is more convenient to bring water and necessary items with you in advance. Nearby are the resort area of Camyuva and other sections of the Kemer coastline, which can be combined with a trip to this bay.

Most often, people reach the bay from Kemer city center by car, taxi, or as part of a boat trip along the coast.
