Dalaman

Dalaman is located in the Aegean region in Mugla province, a few kilometers from the Mediterranean coast. The town, with a population of about 20,000, serves as a convenient base for trips along Turkey's southwest coast and is close to the resorts of Marmaris, Fethiye and Dalyan.

In spirit and scale Dalaman is closer to a small town - there is no mass resort development, but you can feel a traditional Turkish atmosphere: narrow streets, family-run cafes, central markets and a relaxed pace of life. At the same time, Dalaman has the necessary infrastructure for tourists - from local hotels and car rentals to providers of day trips.

Historically, the area around Dalaman was at the crossroads of Lycian and Carian cultures, and later became part of the Ottoman Empire. In the town itself and its surroundings you can trace rural traditions, crafts and architectural elements from the 19th and 20th centuries, making Dalaman interesting for both cultural and educational visits.

Dalaman is often considered a starting point for different types of tourism: beach holidays in the Sarigerme area, eco and river trips along the Dalaman valley, yachting and sea excursions, as well as active pursuits - hiking and cycling routes through the surrounding hills. The town's small scale makes it ideal for unhurried cultural routes and getting to know local life.

The climate here is typically Mediterranean - hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters; the best time to visit for sightseeing and beach holidays is late spring and early autumn when the weather is comfortable and the beaches are not crowded.

Key parts of the town for tourists are Dalaman center with its market and administrative area, the coastal Sarigerme area with beaches and small resorts, and the area around Dalaman Airport, which offers direct flights from many European cities and serves as the main gateway to the region.
